Available Accounting Positions:
We are looking for a team member to fill a senior client accountant position in our Client Accounting and Advisory Services practice (CAAS). This is a developing practice line at SSB, and the ideal team member would be excited to help grow this service offering and to learn and develop new skills along the way.
While our clients didn’t start their business to perform accounting services, we did! Our CAAS model goes far beyond traditional after-the-fact bookkeeping. It is an outsourced accounting model that relieves the burden on our clients of managing the books and provides them with better financial insight to focus on their business. Our goal is to leverage as much technology and automation as possible to minimize the data entry process and provide our clients with current and accurate financial information to use in the business decision-making process.
We want our client accountants to feel that they are an integral part of our firm as well as our clients’ companies.
General duties and responsibilities
The Senior Client Accountant is responsible for multiple clients at the same time. This primarily includes maintaining their accounting software, processing invoices and bill payments, creating weekly cash flow reports, performing their month-end closings, preparing monthly reporting packages and preparing a year-end closing file for our tax experts.
Experience
Hours requirements and remote options
We understand that our team members must juggle many responsibilities between family and child care and work and community involvement. Our culture at SSB makes it acceptable for a team member to leave for a child’s school event without feeling that it is an unprofessional choice. In exchange, our team members take responsibility for their work assignments and coordinate to complete them in a timely fashion to ensure our commitments to our clients are complete. Reasonable flextime is encouraged to help successfully maintain a balanced life. Additionally, SSB provides technology solutions to allow for remote working environments while maintaining the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
This is a full-time [2,080-hour work year (52 weeks * 40 hours per week)] position, with some weeks and time periods being busier than others.
Our tax professionals are motivated self-starters with a passion for education and growth. The successful and ideal candidate will possess a strong leadership ability, positive attitude and a desire to contribute to the success of SSB!
